SLED DOGS IN AMERICA

There is no doubt that dogs accompanied the first humans to step foot on the North American Continent. They hunted, protected, packed and pulled loads, enabling humans to survive in the harsh northern latitudes.

Veryl has been chronicling this relationship with paint and bronze since 2010.

Major work from this collection will soon be on tour for all to see.

“I cannot separate animals from my art, or them from the land, nor from the history they share with humans. For close to half a century I have sought to bring more recognition to the countless roles both domestic and wild animals have played in the history of the American West. I have also sought to capture the spirit of the softer side the the American West with women who are feminine, yet fiercely capable.”
