This is my third studio that has been located in a barn. To enter, you walk the length of the barn aisle past stalls that house equine models. The 24’W x 36’L studio has a 15’H ceiling and two large north windows to let in natural light. The west door opens onto a kennel and play yard for canine models. In reality, the entire barn is my studio as well as the corrals and the land.

The barn/studio was built in 2006 and remodeled in 2022. There was originally an overhead garage door separating the studio from the barn aisle, allowing monumental sculptures to be pushed out into the sunlight; or give ready access to cross-tied equine models during inclement weather. The studio requirements shifted as I returned more and more to painting. The garage door was removed and replaced with an extra wide walk-through door.  In addition to shifting my creative focus from sculpture to painting, we retired our gallery Mancos. The remodel now includes a lighted wall to view finished work.
