Hidden Strength is a quiet depiction of a pioneer woman from around 1860. The movement is created from the prairie wind. I found an old scythe at an antique store and it provided the perfect prop for a pioneer resting in her fields and looking out into the distance. The curves of the scythe and the lines of the blowing dress made a strong composition. I also found the perfect model. Hillary Ross is in her early 40’s and can be recognized at a distance by her proud posture. The gold wedding band adds to the story – a story that could have had so many different endings.
