When the temperatures start rising above 40 degrees, the wildlife that disappeared all winter begins to return. The little critters – chipmunks and golden-mantled ground squirrels – delight me and keep my dogs intensely focused. It is this continuous ebb and flow accompanying each season, that provides endless inspiration for my art. There were multiple models for “Peanuts.” They “volunteered” by entering a live-trap. I brought them into the studio for about an hour and set them free afterwards.
